Our North Shore Venue

Amidst the impressive Pōhutukawa trees of the Milford Reserve on Auckland’s North Shore, the function venue at Milford Cruising Club is a hidden gem for all types of occasions, business events, parties and celebrations.

Our versatile venue is hired by both our members and the general public to host a wide range of events from wedding receptions, birthday parties, wakes or memorial services, engagement parties and wedding anniversaries to business functions, staff Christmas parties and even art exhibitions.

We have 2 spaces available:

  • Main Function Venue
  • Wairau Room

Main Function Venue

The main function room on the first floor is light and spacious, with a wooden dance floor and open plan bar. The room is very generous and has floor to ceiling sliding doors which recess back to provide seamless indoor/outdoor flow onto the wrap around deck where you are encompassed by the beautiful Milford Reserve, the marina and beach beyond.

The versatile venue is hired by both members and the public to host a wide range of events:  corporate functions, workshops, conferences, birthday’s, engagement and Christmas parties, weddings and receptions, fundraisers, community events, wakes or memorials, milestone celebrations and even art exhibitions.

With plenty of free public parking and only 8 minutes’ drive from Takapuna and 20 from Auckland CBD, it couldn’t be more convenient.

The deck area and Reserve also offer the perfect backdrop for photographs, or additional break out spaces for team building or activities.

Availability

7 days a week except Thursday and Friday evenings from 4pm onwards (as we hold our Club Dinners then) and public holidays.

Bar Licence hours*:  Sunday – Wednesday 10pm close, Friday – Saturday 12am close.

*The Milford Cruising Club is a member’s club and our Members Bar will be available to our members during our opening hours even if there is an event on in the main room.

Hire Includes
  • Table and chairs set-up prior to your arrival
  • Use of outdoor deck
  • Bar (you will need to hire staff according to your function numbers – see below)
  • Lift access, wheelchair ramp and disabled toilet facility
Capacity
  • 250 people for a standing canape style function
  • 120 seated with use of the dance floor – up to 140 without the dance floor
  • Up to 50 people can be seated on the deck at tables and bar leaners

  • Weekdays $170 p/h + GST
  • Weekends $230 p/h + GST
  • Corporate 4hr half day (Mon-Fri) $550 + GST
  • Corporate 8hr full day (Mon-Fri) $1,000 + GST
  • Cleaning fee after every function $95 + GST
  • Bar staff (1 staff member per 40 guests) $32 p/h + GST

  • Whiteboard – no charge
  • Wedding admin fee $220 + GST
  • 21st breakage fee $110 + GST
  • Early opening fee $50 + GST (prior to 8.30am 7 days)
  • White tablecloths $10ea + GST
  • Audio visual equipment – projector, screen, PA system, microphones, Wi-Fi $20 + GST

Main Venue Gallery

The Wairau Room

The Wairau Room on the ground floor is a newly renovated, warm and sunny space, suitable for small business meetings, workshops, kid’s birthday parties and lunches. With a sliding door that opens directly onto Milford Reserve this room is a relaxed and informal meeting space with a great indoor-outdoor feel.

Our Location:

Our convenient North Shore location means guests attending your event won’t have to travel far. Once they get here they can enjoy plenty of free public parking right next to the function venue.
